2. Diego Valeri – Portland Timbers
What more can be said about the versatile midfielder. He’s formed a solid trio with Sebastian Blanco and Fanendo Adi. Diego has four goals on the season and has bagged a couple assists, while also helping Portland to a 3-0 start to the season. He’s scoring at a 1.38 goals per 90 minutes pace. Look for Valeri to continue to produce at this rate and help keep the Timbers near the top.
1. Josef Martinez – Atlanta United
The best player in the MLS right now, no doubt. He’s got all the talent in the world and just signed a permanent deal with Atlanta. Most noteworthy, though are the five goals he’s scored through the first three games of the season. Scoring at a 1.72 goals per 90 minute pace right now, and helping Atlanta win games.
