Major League Soccer is all over social media nowadays and each week we take a look at the social media reactions from around the web. From the funny to the cool, it’s all here.
This past week was quite eventful as a German legend is set to join the MLS, fans around the world had their say about the move. Elsewhere, Benny Feilhaber was congratulated for his spectacular goal and the production of top class gifs continues.
Schweinsteiger joins Chicago Fire
It was no surprise that Schweinsteiger’s move to the Fire garnered lots of attention. He is coming from one of the world’s most famous clubs. Manchester United fans were grateful for his service, and some were disappointed that they didn’t get to see more of him. There were plenty of mixed reactions from MLS fans as well.

Sad to see a legend like Bastian Schweinsteiger leave Manchester United and the Premier League. A real shame that we didn't see his best.

Feilhaber scores wonder goal after being left off USMNT roster
Benny Feilhaber scored a fantastic goal in Sporting Kansas City’s 2-1 over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday. It was a fitting goal for a player that some believed should have been an USMNT selection for their upcoming slate of matches.
It FLEW in.

MLS officials receive praise
Last weekend the officials in the Chicago Fire vs. Real Salt Lake match made a fantastic call when it appeared the Fire forward was offsides, but upon closer review, it was indeed the right call, as a defender had touched the ball that allowed him to go in alone. Soccer fans took notice and praised the officials.
Get this referee in the Premier League. What a decision. 🇺🇸👏🏻

The Funny
Everyone loves memes and gifs, especially when things don’t go as planned or you catch a really pumped fan. Here’s the best of the week.
