LAFC's first goal came in the 47th minute of the second half when Kei Kamara capitalized on a precise cross from Timothy Tillman and expertly headed the ball into the back of the net. This goal not only opened the scoring but also boosted the team's morale, leading them to further dominate the game. The Las Vegas Lights were not willing to surrender easily and responded with a goal from Shawn Smart in the 56th minute, keeping the match open and increasing the tension in the stadium.

But LAFC's response was swift and decisive. In the 70th minute, Cristian Olivera put his team back in front, taking advantage of a goalkeeper error and slotting the ball into the empty net. This goal was a harsh blow to Las Vegas Lights' hopes, as their chances of a comeback diminished significantly. And to seal the victory, Olivera scored again in injury time of the second half, securing not only the win but also LAFC's confidence for the upcoming stages of the competition.
