At Atlético Goianiense, the Brazilian club that heavily reinforced its squad for the season, the concern now is the possible loss of Emiliano Rodriguez. According to MLS Multiplex, San Jose Earthquakes and San Lorenzo have their eyes on the young Uruguayan, but it is the Argentine club that holds the advantage.

The 20-year-old Uruguayan belongs to Boston River from Uruguay but is on loan to Atlético Goianiense until the end of the season. With the attention from San Jose Earthquakes and, especially, San Lorenzo, Rodriguez's stay in Brazil is seriously threatened.

San Lorenzo is already more advanced in the negotiations. And, let's be honest, it's not surprising. The Argentine club, with all its tradition and showcase in South American soccer, offers a tempting proposal. However, we must not overlook the interest from San Jose Earthquakes, which, although a bit behind in the talks, represents an open door to the increasingly attractive North American market.

Still, the question remains: will Atlético be able to keep Rodriguez until the end of the loan or will they give in to the tempting offers that are coming?
