2024 SheBelieves Cup, Will Feature the USA, Brazil, Canada and Japan
Defending champions USA will face Japan, while Brazil tackles Canada in the semifinals of the 2024 edition of the Shebelieves Cup at the Mercedes – Benz Stadium on April 6,2024. The third-place match and the championship game will be played on (April 9) at the Lower.com Field. The inaugural edition of the SheBelieves Cup was won by the host USA in 2016. France took top honors in 2017 after beating England 2-1 in the finals. The USA was crowned champions again in 2018, while beaten 2017 finalist England took first place podium finish in 2019. USA returned to the top of the podium in 2020 and went on to dominate the following three years 2021, 2022 and 2023.
All four teams this year are ranked in the top 11 in the world and have participated in last year’s tournament. Despite the change in the SheBelieves Cup, where they will only have four teams in the tournament, two down from the usual six, USA are still touted as the favorite to win a record fifth straight time. The changes of competition came because of this year's FIFA competition windows and the staging of the Concacaf W Gold Cup in February and March. All four participating nations are countries that competed in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and are very strong competitors, the format will return to three doubleheaders in 2025.
The Mercedes-Benz stadium is set to host at least two games in this summer's Copa America Competition and at least 8 games including the semifinals in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The run of games will be very useful as they laid grass pitch to replace the artificial grass currently there. The 2024 SheBelieves Cup will be the first of six domestic games the U.S. Women will play following the conclusion the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup and leading into the 2024 Olympics in France.
According to ussoccer.org U.S. interim head coach Twila Kilgore Said “This is a tournament that features three teams already in the Olympics and Japan has a great chance to qualify, so coming off the Gold Cup, these are the exact kinds of games we need to evaluate players and continue to push our team as we prepare for France,” “One great thing about the SheBelieves Cup is that it goes a long way in replicating the group stage at the Olympics, both in the short amount of rest you get between games while also facing teams with different styles of play during a group stage. The games will be great tests for all the teams and fun for the fans ahead of the Olympics.”

Tickets for the April 6 doubleheader at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Atlanta in Atlanta go on sale to the public on March 1, 2024.

Finals/third place
April 9 Columbus, Ohio Lower.com Field hosting the final two games of the tournament at 4 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. ET on as the Semifinal winners play in the Championship and the losers play in the Third-Place Match. The USA will play in the 7 p.m. ET time slot (TBS, Universo, Max & Peacock) whether it is playing in Championship or Third-Place Match, and the other game will be at 4 p.m. ET (TBS, Universo, Max & Peacock).
