What a rollercoaster of emotions with the first match after the World Cup, am I right?

After three entertaining matches, including the Portland Timbers' dominant 5-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders, fans were left with a bitter taste when they learned that the Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Chicago Fire match had been postponed, delaying Robert Lewandowski's long-awaited MLS debut.

However, the last encounter of the night made sure we were having all that MLS adrenaline. Now, Friday 17th, we have two interesting and powerful clashes tonight.

On one side, we have the Atlanta United against Nashville SC at 8:30 pm ET. On the other one, we have the El Trafico clash between LA Galaxy and LAFC at 10:25 pm ET.

However, as beautiful as this sport can be, there is a downside: Many injuries in these two games. The most affected team, and you will see why, is Nashville SC. I could believe the number of questionable players this team has.

On the other hand, LA Galaxy has the fewest injured players.

MLS Injury Report

Why is it important to know which players are unavailable? First, because it gives you a better idea of the coach's tactical setup and the way the team is likely to play.

Second, it lets you check whether your favorite player, or simply the team's best player, will be available for the match.

Let’s go by teams, shall we? So, without further ado, here's the official MLS injury report:

What can we take away from this injury report? Simply put, Nashville SC is dealing with a long list of absences heading into the second half of the regular season.

The good news, though, is that MLS is back, bringing the kind of matches that make you not want to leave the couch, and that's what makes this league so much fun.
