Even with the World Cup entering its decisive knockout stage, MLS remains more connected to the tournament than ever before.

Not only did the league set a new record with 44 players called up to the competition, but several of them are still in contention to lift the trophy and be crowned world champions.

Thus, the MLS is ranked in the Top 10 of the league for the most minutes in this World Cup. It is interesting to see where the league is placed and who the players with the most minutes are.

MLS is the sixth league with the most minutes played at the 2026 World Cup

Before the World Cup, MLS was already considered one of the best leagues in the world, ranking seventh behind Europe's top five leagues and the English second division.

After the first two days of the Round of 32, active MLS players have already accumulated 6,075 minutes played at the 2026 World Cup.

In total, that number rises to 13,314 minutes when including former MLS players currently competing in the tournament, placing it sixth among the leagues with the most minutes played at the World Cup.

The best example and the league carrying this statistic is Paraguay. With their victory against Germany, this number will be larger.

Andres Cubas, a Vancouver Whitecaps player, and Matias Galarza Fonda, an Atlanta United player, played the whole 90 minutes for four straight matches, the three from the group stage and the knockout one against Germany.

Also, Miguel Almiron played 90 minutes. The other MLS player with the most minutes is Braian Ojeda from Real Salt Lake, with 21 minutes.

In total, active MLS players logged 351 minutes in a World Cup victory over Germany. That number could increase even further in the next round against France.

These impressive figures highlight MLS's rapid growth and its increasing influence on the global stage.
