Real Salt Lake Bolsters its Midfield with Permanent Signing of Paraguayan Midfielder Braian Ojeda from English Premier League side Nottingham Forest. The 23-year-old player, who has been on loan at RSL since August 2022, is now a part of the squad until the 2025 MLS season, with options to extend the contract until 2026-27. This acquisition demonstrates the club’s commitment to strengthen its roster and consolidate its midfield for the remainder of the season.

Braian Ojeda quickly established himself as a key player for RSL, showcasing his value with two assists in 27 league matches, starting in 18 of them. With the ability to play as both a box-to-box midfielder and in defensive roles, the Paraguayan midfielder displayed his versatility and tactical prowess, forming a solid partnership in the midfield alongside Pablo Ruiz.

Elliot Fall, General Manager of Real Salt Lake, emphasized the importance of Braian Ojeda to the team and highlighted that his permanent signing represents a significant milestone for the club. The player is part of RSL’s Sub-22 Initiative, which aims to build a young and promising roster for the future.

Ojeda himself expressed his happiness to remain with Real Salt Lake and gratitude to the coaching staff, teammates, and fans for their support. He highlighted the personal and professional growth he has experienced during his time in Utah and stated that he will give his best to reward the fans with titles in the Leagues Cup, US Open Cup, and the MLS Cup Playoffs.

The permanent signing of Ojeda is part of a series of strategic moves by Real Salt Lake during the secondary transfer window. In addition to the Paraguayan midfielder, the club has also secured the services of midfielder Nelson Palacio and forward Cristian Arango on a permanent basis, further strengthening the squad in different positions.

Currently occupying the third position in the Western Conference standings, RSL is determined to compete at a high level and secure a solid position for the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. The permanent addition of Ojeda to the midfield reinforces the team’s competitiveness, increasing their chances of success in the title race.
