The Brazilian midfielder Judson has been a key player in the Major League Soccer (MLS), reaching the milestone of 100 appearances in his fifth season in the league. His presence at San Jose Earthquakes was instrumental in a significant 2-0 victory against Seattle Sounders at home. With this triumph, Sounders remained in third place with 35 points, but San Jose Earthquakes showcased their strength by closing the gap and reaching 32 points, now occupying the fifth position on the table.
This personal achievement of Judson reflects his dedication and skill as a player throughout these years in the MLS. With 100 games, he demonstrates consistency and confidence on the field, playing a crucial role in his team. Additionally, his importance in the match against Seattle Sounders is evident, helping his team secure a victory at home.
San Jose Earthquakes have shown promising performances in the league, and the win against Seattle Sounders is a testament to that. By narrowing the gap on the table, the team showcases their competitiveness and ambition to reach an even higher position in the championship.
“The debut always stands out, even though it wasn’t with a positive result. The game in 2020 against Los Angeles FC that secured our early playoff spot and, of course, the 100th game, which was also against Los Angeles FC,” said Judson in an exclusive interview with MLS Multiplex.
The MLS has become increasingly competitive, with talented players from different parts of the world. In this scenario, the contribution of Brazilian players like Judson is essential to elevate the level of football in the league. The presence of internationally renowned athletes also increases fan interest and the competition’s visibility.
“I believe the league has evolved significantly and will be in the top 5 leagues in the world in the coming years. It has managed to maintain a spectacular organization and has attracted great players. Football is not yet the number one sport in the country, and I don’t think it will be until 2026. They have started investing in football in the last 10 years. I believe they are trying to improve in all areas to make football reach the top spot within the country, but I don’t know how long it will take,” said Judson.
However, the path to success is not easy, and teams need to continue working hard to achieve their goals. The league offers many challenges but also opportunities for teams to stand out and secure their position.
“These are very important games for our sequence and for the first objective, which is qualifying for the playoffs. We know these will be tough games, but we are having a good championship, and I hope we can maintain the consistency in these matches as well. We need to improve a bit in the final stretch of games; we lost some points by conceding goals in injury time, but we have already improved a lot in the last 4/5 games, and I hope we can maintain the consistency we are having to secure this playoff spot in advance,” Judson concluded in an exclusive interview with MLS Multiplex.
Judson’s journey in the MLS is an example of dedication and talent, and his 100-game milestone is a significant achievement in his career. San Jose Earthquakes is also showing their potential as a competitive team in the league.
