USMNT abroad: Christian Pulisic registers first assist of EPL season

USMNT star Christian Pulisic was able to register his first assist of the 2020/21 Premier League season against Burnley. Pulisic set up Marcos Alonzo’s goal in the 84th minute as the Blues went on to win the match 2-0. The forward registered two shot-creating actions and completed 75% of his passes in addition to the assist. In 14 appearances for Chelsea in the English top-flight this season, Pulisic now has one goal and one assist.

Antonee Robinson was the other USMNT player to see minutes in the Premier League this weekend. The left back started and played the entire match for Fulham in their 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion. Robinson finished with one tackle, one interception, and three aerials won.
Goals in Germany
Wolfsburg defender John Brooks scored his second goal of the Bundesliga season against Freiburg. Brooks’ goal came off of a corner kick as he dispatched his effort from close range past the goalkeeper. Defensively, the USMNT center back recorded eight clearances, one tackle, and one interception.

Julian Green scored his seventh goal of the 2 Bundesliga season in a 3-0 victory for Greuther Furth. Green has scored in three consecutive matches for Greuther Furth and has already achieved the highest goal total of his career in a domestic season.
Other notable performances
Weston McKennie played the entire match for Juventus in their 2-0 win over Sampdoria. McKennie recorded two key passes, five tackles, four interceptions, and two clearances. Elsewhere in Italy, Andrija Novakovich registered an assist for Frosinone in their 3-1 defeat to Emploi. The assist was Novavkovich’s third of the season.
In Germany, strikers Matthew Hoppe and Josh Sargent were on opposite sides of the pitch as Schalke faced Werder Bremen in Bundesliga action. Both players started the match and it would end in a 1-1 draw. Hoppe finished with one shot and two clearances while Sargent registered two shots, one key pass, and one tackle.
Other action in the Bundesliga saw Tyler Adams start and play the entire match for RB Leipzig in their massive 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen. Adams finished with one shot, one key pass, four interceptions, and two tackles. Giovanni Reyna also was a starter over the weekend as he played the entire match for Borussia Dortmund in a 3-1 victory over Augsburg. Reyna recorded one shot, one key pass, and one tackle in the win.
Chris Durkin scored for Sint-Truiden in their 3-0 victory over Cercle Brugge. It was Durkin’s first goal of the 2020/21 campaign for Sint-Truiden. In other fixtures in Belgium, Matt Miazga and Mark McKenzie were in action. Miazga played the entire match for Anderlecht in their scoreless draw with Gent. The center back registered two tackles, five interceptions, and two blocked shots. McKenzie played the entire match for Genk in a scoreless draw with KV Mechelen. McKenzie recorded four blocked shots, three clearances, two tackles, and one interception.
In Austria, Brenden Aaronson entered in the second half for Red Bull Salzburg in their 3-0 win over Hartberg. The midfielder recorded one tackle in the victory for Salzburg. Erik Palmer-Brown played all 90 minutes in Austria Wien’s 2-2 draw with WSG Swarvoski Tirol as he recorded one tackle in the match.
