This wasn’t the first time in Morris’ career that he had interest from European clubs. The American forward had been sought after by Bundesliga club Werder Bremen in 2016.

However, he elected to remain in the United States and became a key member of the Seattle Sounders. He’s gone on to have a very successful career with the Sounders which has included two MLS Cup titles.

A deserving opportunity

Morris has performed very well over the years in MLS. In his five-season career at Seattle, three of the five seasons have seen him score 10 goals or more.
