Sporting KC MLS Cup 2013: Where are they now?

CB – Aurélien Collin – Philadelphia Union (MLS)
The man who scored the winning penalty in the MLS Cup final in December 2013 was centre-half Aurélien Collin, who played 34 times over the campaign, including playing all 510 minutes in the playoff run.
The defender’s career started in Scotland, with Gretna. After a season there, Collin spent time with Panserraikos in Greece and then Wrexham before spending two seasons in Portugal with Vitoria Setubal. April 2011 saw the French-born centre-half sign for Sporting Kansas City, beginning his MLS journey to date. He was part of the team’s U.S. Open Cup-winning side in 2012, a year before taking home the MLS Cup. In the final, Collin was awarded the MLS Cup MVP award, as he scored the equalising goal before then netting the winning penalty in the shootout.
Overall, the defender played more than a century of games for Sporting KC before making the move to Orlando City, where he was part of their first-ever MLS 18. He spent two years with the Lions, before then making the move to New York to play for the Red Bulls, where his debut actually came against Orlando. Collin now plays his football in Philadelphia, after he was signed by the Union in January 2019.
