RB – Chance Myers – Unattached

The starting right-back the day Sporting KC won the MLS Cup in 2013 was Californian Chance Myers, who played 32 games in their glory season. The American spent his youth career with Real So Cal and Pateadores, before spending time with the UCLA Bruins during his college career.

His first time of professional footballing action came with Ventura County Fusion, before the Kansas City Wizards took him with the first overall pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft. Myers signed for KCW a month later and went on to play over 150 times for the club, as they went through the transition from KCW to Sporting KC. During his time with the club, he was part of the 2012 U.S. Open Cup and the 2013 MLS Cup-winning sides.

In that 2013 campaign, the American appeared 32 times, including playing every minute of their playoff run. Myers scored the penultimate penalty in the final, as SKC overcame RSL to win the title for the second time in their history. He spent a further three seasons with the Kansas City side, before making the move to the Portland Timbers. After two years with them, he was waived by the club, and Myers is currently unattached.
