Crystal Dunn

Joining Dahlkemper in the backline, Crystal Dunn was on the relaxed side of the American’s record-setting win over Thailand. However, as a left-back, she did have an opportunity to push forward and contribute to the attack, making several key passes and even having an attempt on goal of her own.

Jill Ellis made multiple changes in the next fixture against Chile, one of which included Dunn getting some time to rest, in place of Tierna Davidson. Dunn returned to the line-up against Sweden and helped preserve the shutout. Dunn’s side was attacked heavily by Sofia Jakobsson of Sweden forcing Naeher to make saves, but the shutout remained intact, which is all you can ask.

The journey for Crystal Dunn to win a World Cup after missing 2015 continues with a matchup with Spain on the horizon.
