Revolution 4-3 Galaxy: July 22, 2017

That brings us to the most recent chapter in this rivalry — last season’s seven-goal thriller.

New England took a pair of one-goal leads that evaporated thanks to Galaxy defender Daniel Steres’ head. But New England finally grabbed control as Teal Bunbury scored a brace within four minutes to give New England a 4-2 lead. LA would grab a final goal when Ariel Lassiter scored five minutes after Bunbury.

The comeback effort ultimately fell short for LA, and the season fell short for both storied sides. Neither team made the playoffs and both looked to rebuild under new management in 2018.
