MLS is celebrating its 21st year of existence this season as the league continues to produce thrilling action on the pitch.

Despite its slow start, the league has grown over the years and will be taking even more steps in the near future with the addition of four more clubs.

In the past 21 years, the clubs in the MLS have done what they can to field winning teams and star players. This effort has allowed the league to expand its reach and attract more and more international recognition. From the arrival of Thierry Henry to the newly acquired Andrea Pirlo, the league is starting to see an influx of top European players.

There have been 23 clubs in the history of the league, and each franchise has contributed to the development of the game in the U.S. They have been home to top drawer players and winning teams that have inspired generations. As we head into another expansion period, we take a look back at all the franchises in MLS history, the history that they have produced for the league, and rank them based on win totals.
