USMNT: Christian Pulisic, Josh Sargent among call-ups to face Bolivia
By Daniel Garza
Christian Pulisic will make his return to the USMNT roster for the first time since the devastating loss in World Cup qualifying, and is set to face Bolivia.
USMNT manager Dave Sarachan confirmed the midfielder’s attendance for the upcoming friendly during a press conference on Wednesday.
Pulisic will play for the Stars and Stripes for the first time since October when the U.S. fell to Trinidad & Tobago in the final World Cup qualifying match.
Since the shocking result, the USMNT have gone with primarily younger rosters, but have not included Pulisic in them. With the Bundesliga season winding down, Pulisic has turned in another decent campaign with the German club. He has four goals and six assists in the Bundesliga this season.

Pulisic has arguably been the best American player abroad during the European season. At 19, he continues to show great upside and growth.
"“I’m really excited to play in Philadelphia,” Pulisic said. “Obviously it’s close to my home and a lot of my family will be there and I’m super excited to put on the U.S. jersey again.”"
The match will take place on May 28th at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pennsylvania which is near Pulisic’s hometown of Hershey.
"“With the addition of the Bolivia game, we have a great set of experiences on the table for our young players this summer,” U.S. head coach Dave Sarachan said. “Bolivia presents different challenges than Ireland and France. We’re thrilled to be starting the tour in Philadelphia, one of the great soccer communities in the United States and a fan base that has always supported the National Team.”"
Another interesting note from the press conference was the mention of Josh Sargent of Werder Bremen. Sarachan noted he would be called up for the upcoming friendlies. The 18-year-old is one of the USMNT’s top prospects and he was even spotted training with Bremen’s senior team on Wednesday.
Sargent appears to be a possible new no.9 for the USMNT and it makes sense to see him get called up. He is a player that could see first-team minutes in Germany next season, which might lead him to earn a roster spot on either the Copa America or CONCACAF Gold Cup rosters come the summer of 2019.
