Week 8 Roundup:

As stated previously it seems as if Sebastian Giovinco is finally heating up after a slow start to the MLS fantasy and 2017 campaigns. Giovinco managed to score two goals against Bastian and Co as Chicago rolled into town. Chicago had been on a winning streak up until then, taking their first loss with Bastian Schweinsteiger in the lineup. Giovinco had no interest in warmly welcoming the German midfielder and his fire teammate, Nemanja Nikolic. Giovinco’s two goals managed 16 points… not bad.

Meanwhile, Seattle had NO mercy on the poor ol’ LA Galaxy. Curt Onalfo’s LA Galaxy continue to struggle heavily, as Clint Dempsey got himself a goal and an assist in the Sounders route of LA. Dempsey also managed a week eight high 16 points. Not bad for the former (?), renewed (?) Captain America.

Lastly, Philadelphia looked like they would finally come through with their first win, but it wasn’t meant to be for the Union as Montreal came back from a 3-1 deficit in the 2nd half. CJ Sapong awoke from Philly Striker Jail scoring and assisting for a total of14 points. His teammate Alberg trailed behind him with 12.

MLS Week 9 Must Have Players:

1) Cyle Larin

Mr. Canada is really letting his presence be known this season only sitting one goal away from Cubo Torres on the top of the goal scoring charts with six goals. Larin has been a beast and is riding Orlando’s run of good form.

Orlando have been arguably the best team in MLS, especially at their new stadium which opened up this season. Larin continued his insane run of form against NYCFC and scored two goals to get Orlando the road win.

2) Miguel Almiron

Atlanta United have quietly put together several good results away from home in the past few weeks, but now they return to their temporary fortress at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium. They tied away at Seattle and Toronto and took an unlucky loss to Montreal. Last week they picked up a 3-1 win at RSL and Almiron picked up 17 points on the four game away trip. Atlanta hosting DC United at home could bring Almiron a big game and cash in on MLS Fantasy points!

3) Joevin Jones

Arguably the best left back in MLS this season, Joevin Jones has been repping hard for T&T, while putting on a show for Sounders fans. Jones has racked up 41 points this season in only eight games at only $5.3 million!

MLS Multiplex fans, Joevin Jones is one of the most attacking fullbacks in the league and will provide assists and the occasional goal. Against a New England side that is weak on the road, expect a shutout for the Sounders and Jones.
