A depleted Minnesota United side travels to take on a struggling New England Revolution Saturday afternoon.

Because of the FIFA international dates, there are only a few MLS games to be played Saturday. One of those games will be Minnesota United and the New England Revolution. Here are a few things to be aware of before kick-off and watch for during the game:

Minnesota is Depleted

It is unfortunate that Minnesota United doesn’t have a bye this weekend since they are missing some big names from their line-up due to international duty. Rasmus Schuller will be playing for Finland, Kevin Molino will be with Trinidad and Tobago, and Johan Venegas will be with Francisco Calvo playing for Costa Rica.

Head coach Adrian Heath is taking an optimistic approach to their absence:

"It gives the guys who’ve been out of the team an opportunity to show you in an MLS game what they can do. There’s three or four of them who’ve been really disappointed that they were left out at the weekend. And quite rightly so: I don’t expect anything else. This is another opportunity for them. One door shuts, another door opens for people, and all I know is every time that you play, you have an opportunity to impress. As we’re still getting to know everybody within this group, it’s just another opportunity."

Expect the Loons to line up in a 4-4-2 to make up for their absences with Danladi getting his first MLS start up top with Ramirez.

Time for New England to Attack

The New England Revolution has yet to pick up a point this season, losing their first game 1-0 to Colorado and losing their second 2-1 to FC Dallas. After having their match against Orlando postponed, they are 0-0-2 on the season with a lack luster offense, scoring only once so far this season on a penalty kick.

Saturday is the perfect opportunity for the Revolution to finally start finding the back of the net. Minnesota has been leaking goals so far this season, 13 of them in the first three games of the year. With those numbers and the Loons have so many players injured and out on international duty, New England fans would be extremely disappointed if they don’t come away with a win Saturday.
