Micheal Azira signed with the Colorado Rapids during the Waiver Draft on December 9th after the Seattle Sounders let him become a free agent at the end of the 2015 season. With Seattle he was very much a backup midfielder but in Colorado he appeared in all but three of the 34 regular season games and helped the Rapids become the best defense in the MLS with his centermidfield partnership with Sam Cronin, averaging 3.3 interceptions and 2.5 tackles per game.
