Top 5 Montreal Impact Trades Of All-Time
Date: July 29, 2014. Manager: Frank Klopas
Klopas has a long history in Major League Soccer. In 1996, he was one of Kansas City Wizards’ first marquee players, along with the likes of U.S. internationals Preki and Mike Sorber. A forward, the Greek-born USMNT member would retire three years later as a member of the Chicago Fire.

In 2011, Klopas was hired to coach his former team in the Windy City. Fast forward to 2014 and he is looking to bring in players he knows he can trust to try to steady the ship in the midst of a tough season.
He signed his old left-back, Krzysztof Krol and traded to get one of his former midfielders, Dilly Duka.
So far, Duka has been doing wonders for Montreal. He has scored a respectable four goals and added three assists through his first 20 games in Bleu, Blanc and Noir. Considering he put up those same number in double the number of games in Chicago, his output has been very good. Plus he has developed some good chemistry with fellow midfielders Andres Romero, Justin Mapp and Ignacio Piatti.
I had mixed emotions about this trade as I was a big fan of Sanna Nyassi. I loved how whenever the Gambian hit the pitch, he would make things happen with his pace and intensity. However, he wasn’t fitting in well with the Impact’s system and was picked up by the San Jose Earthquakes in stage two of the Re-Entry Draft.
