With less than a week to go before Canada takes off to Jamaica to play some of the best U-20 players that CONCACAF has to offer, Canada announced it’s roster set to take part in the CONCACAF Championship.

More from CF Montreal

“I am excited to get this squad together and we are all looking forward to the learning experience of a world cup qualifying campaign. This is an opportunity to continue the players development and expose them to demands of an international football tournament,” said Gale. “I hope and expect the players will seize this opportunity to test and showcase themselves and we are confident in showing everyone what a good football team we are becoming and helping these players move on in their international careers.” said head coach Rob Gale in an e-mail sent by Soccer Canada.

The roster includes a plethora of talent currently locked up by MLS squads, including six players signed by the Vancouver Whitecaps or current members of their residency program. Jordan Hamilton of Toronto FC is also another noteable name on the squad.

  • Cyle Larin who is widely anticipated to be the first overall draft pick in this year’s MLS SuperDraft will also be making the trip to Jamaica. The Connecticut striker grew up just outside of Toronto in Brampton, the same town where Doneil Henry who just signed for West Ham United hails from.

Marco Bustos is another interesting name on the list as he had been widely critisized earlier in the year for accepting an invitaton to train with the Chilean U-20 side. However, even though he has committed himself to Canada for this tournament, he could still opt to represent Chile at the senior level one day.

The Canadians will be without team captain Dylan Carreiro, as well as, Fraser Aird who were both forced to remain with their club teams as they have matches scheduled during the course of the tournament.

Here is the full roster set to represent Canada in Jamaica as they seek a berth at the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015.
