The United States and Canada could be on a collision course again. But as the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup group stage has proven, no result should be taken for granted.
Concacaf released the full schedule for the knockout phase of the tournament late Tuesday, not long after the last eight became official.
The United States and Canada will both play their quarterfinals on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, and if they win will meet on Wednesday at Energizer Stadium in St. Louis in the first of two semifinals that night.
The tournament's other two group winners, Mexico and Panama, play their quarterfinals on Saturday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. If they win, they could meet in Wednesday's second semifinal at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
Reigning champion Mexico leads all nations with nine Gold Cup titles, followed by the United States with seven and Canada with one.
The last time the United States and Canada met in the Gold Cup was a 2023 quarterfinal that finished as a 2-2 draw before the USA advaced on penalties.
Their last meeting in the semifinals came in 2007, when the United States earned a 2-1 win on first-half goals from Frankie Hejduk and Landon Donovan.
