In a career that started when she was well young, at just 21 years, Tamara Bolt has accumulated experience that takes a number of years for many players. Discovered by Bahia, she immediately made a name for herself through her talent and hard work. The 2021 transfer to SC Internacional opened avenues fully characterized by regularity and technical development.

The forward has played 72 matches for the Rio Grande do Sul team in the last five years, scoring ten goals and giving five assists. None of these figures are something out of this world, yet they hide something that statistics cannot show: the capability of Tamara to change and mold for whatever the team needs. This season, she played as a right-back-a very rare versatility that any coach would pay a lot for.

The decision to sign with the Washington Spirit

Tamara Bolt was clear about her reasons for joining the Spirit: the career plan and the club's commitment to winning titles. For the team, signing the Brazilian means betting on a player who combines youth, experience, and a clear desire to grow. During her time at Internacional, she won two state championships with the main team and two Brazilian U-20 Championships.

For Tamara, the move to the NWSL is more than just a geographical leap; it's an opportunity to compete at the highest level of women's soccer surrounded by some of the best players in the world.

Mark Krikorian, the Spirit’s president of soccer operations, had high praise for Tamara’s potential. “We’re excited to welcome her to the club and look forward to helping her further develop her skills as a professional,” he said.

Tamara’s impact on the Spirit’s roster

Tamara Bolt joins the Washington Spirit to fill an international roster spot, bringing depth and a different dynamic to the team. Players of this mold-young, versatile-often rejuvenate teams with fresh options tactically and a new dynamism on the pitch.

At the same time, Tamara represents internationalization of the roster, an ever-growing concern within the NWSL. Picking up South American talent is huge-including talents from Brazil-makes not just a performance but also opens doors to grow your audience, connecting them with the whole world.
