Louisville Racing: Close Season with Heads High

For Racing Louisville, it's the opportunity to say goodbye to the season at home with dignity. It might have been a roller coaster of a season, but this team fought until the end and grew through most of the year. That recent win against Portland Thorns, one of the strong forces in the league, gave Racing a much-needed confidence boost and proof that they could compete on a high level.

Taylor Flint has been a bright spot in this final stretch of games with her aerial ability. During the last game against Portland, it was she who won it with her header; that spoke to her value as an attacking weapon on set pieces. Closing the season out at home with a win would be a gift to Louisville's supporters and a stepping stone for next season.

San Diego Wave: Seeking an Honorable Exit

Meanwhile, San Diego Wave had a tough season and are coming into their last match without playoff hopes. The squad has suffered from a row of losses and faces problems in both defense and attack. That doesn't mean that San Diego will be goalless on the field. On the contrary, finishing off this season by winning away from home may give them grounds to build new strengths for the next season.

Keep an eye out for Delphine Cascarino, fresh from scoring a stunner against Kansas City Current. The French forward brought skill and technique to the team since her arrival, with the ability to score from long range not common. Against Racing, Cascarino has the chance to close her debut NWSL season with another strong performance and, perhaps, one more goal to cap her contributions.

Venu Change at Last Minute and Tickets at Affordable Rates

There were some late changes in the game between Racing Louisville and San Diego Wave. The match was initially scheduled to take place in Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego but has now been rescheduled to Lynn Family Stadium because of the field conditions at San Diego. In that sudden shift, the Racing fans have come up with one last chance: the team's season closer is going to be at home with specially-priced tickets and free admission for season ticket members.

A change of venue should favor Racing, as they will have upward of a more supportive crowd and the comfort of their own ground in this farewell game. It is to be a day of joy and appreciation for a year that has been quite demanding due to their fans' continual presence. Ticket prices remain affordable, so a reasonable number should turn up at the stadium.
