At 23 years old, Morgan has won two titles with the Citizens: the Women's FA Cup and the League Cup, and has been recognized by England coach Sarina Wiegman. Seeking higher challenges, the athlete is preparing for her first international experience by joining the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She is versatile, able to play both as a center-back and as a right-back. Although she played only 61 minutes in the Women's Super League, the English league, she was able to showcase some of her defensive characteristics. Having started as a center-back, Esme Morgan is not overly aggressive on the field but knows how to position herself well and has good passing ability.

The Spirit, which stands out among the top five NWSL teams in precise passing, with a success rate of 76%, is betting on Morgan's ability to contribute. She has an average pass accuracy of 86% and takes risks with key passes in the final third of the field. The English player could improve her game both offensively and defensively, thus adding consistency to a team that is already on a roll.

Esme Morgan started her soccer journey at the age of four, playing on a boys' team near Sheffield, and has since stood out for her determination and consistency. With an average of 2.7 ball recoveries per game, Morgan is a crucial piece in building a solid and reliable defense.

With all these qualities, Esme Morgan promises to be a valuable addition to Washington Spirit, further strengthening the team and helping achieve its goals in the upcoming NWSL season.
