In the 38th minute, the Pride broke the deadlock with a perfect header from midfielder Evelina Duljan. The moment began with Kerry Abello pushing the Orlando attack into the Louisville area, dribbling past the opposing defense with mastery. Abello then delivered a perfect cross to Duljan, who beat her defender and headed the ball into the back of the net with precision. The goal was a real shock to Louisville, who had been holding firm in defense until then.

However, the second half brought a turning point for Louisville. In the 67th minute, Emma Sears received a masterful pass and led a blistering attack down the right side of the Orlando defense. From just outside the box, she sent a perfect cross to Reilyn Turner, who rose above the defense and headed the ball in with force, leveling the score. The goal was a real blow for the Pride, who until then had seemed to be in control of the game.

The draw took the match to a penalty shootout, where the tension reached extremely high levels. Louisville came out on top, winning 4-3 and securing the extra point that sent them through to the next stage of the competition. The result was a huge blow for the Orlando Pride, who fought bravely but fell at the final whistle.
Seb Hines, coach of the Orlando Pride, commented on the importance of the game for the team, highlighting the opportunity to test new players and maintain a high standard of performance, even with several players on international duty.

"We've had a lot of practice with penalties, so it puts us in a good position going forward. I think, looking back, it was a good test for us, especially with so many players away on international duty. It allowed us to give other players an opportunity to go out there and perform and still maintain a high standard and see where the players are at," said Hines.

He also stressed the importance of replicating the pressure and competitiveness of real matches, something that is difficult to achieve through training alone. "It's very difficult to try and replicate real games, competitive games, and this time it allowed us to do that. I think we're in a really good position going into the regular season knowing where everyone is and still continuing to have that high standard we set at the start of the season."

On the other hand, Racing Louisville showed impressive resilience. Even though they were behind on the scoreboard, they kept their cool and managed to level the game, showing that you should never underestimate a determined opponent.
