The midwestern state is held in high regard for its football team Kansas City Chiefs and their star quarterback was in the vicinity to watch Lionel Messi on his visit. That's right, Patrick Mahomes was at the Arrowhead Stadium to watch his MLS team, Sporting KC compete against Inter Miami CF.

It was a bittersweet moment for Mahomes, as he watched his beloved soccer team fall to the charm of Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez. However, Mahomes remained respectful to the opposition after the match as he spoke high praise of Lionel Messi.

As per Arrowhead Pride, Patrick Mahomes shared appreciation of meeting Lionel Messi, claiming that Messi is an example of a "guy at the top of any league in the entire world". Very high praise for Lionel Messi, who many fans across the globe consider as being the greatest to ever grace the soccer pitch.

In his own words, Mahomes said: “It’s awesome, man, to see the guy at the top of any league in the entire world, you saw in the certain spots that he had, where he wasn’t marked or he wasn’t free, where he got free, he made stuff happen with the pass that he made, the vision that he had and then the goal that he scored. It shows you what it is like when you have the top-of-the-top kind of playing in any profession.”

Lionel Messi's prized attribute is his low centre of gravity, which allows him to shimmy out of tight situations. He is the type of player that you could NEVER tackle, even if you were both inside a phone box. Throughout his years in Europe and now North America, he has sat many defenders on their backsides and this was no different at the weekend.
