The Houston Dash once again demonstrated the strength of their defense by securing their sixth clean sheet of the season in a goalless draw against San Diego Wave FC. At Shell Energy Stadium, the team showed resilience and defensive organization, limiting the Wave to a few clear-cut scoring opportunities.

The Dash defense, led by Jane Campbell, who recently signed a contract extension until 2028, has been a pillar of consistency. Campbell made three important saves against San Diego, and her leadership in goal has been vital for the team. The Dash's defensive performance was exemplary, limiting San Diego to no shots on target in the second half. Natalie Jacobs stood out with four tackles, while Andressa led the way with four interceptions.

The Houston Dash's defensive performance isn't just limited to the back line. Barbara Olivieri, a Katy native, won all four tackles and led the team with nine fumble recoveries. The Dash's ability to block opponents' attacks and maintain defensive organization has been key to their success this season.
Even though they didn't get the win, the Dash managed to improve on the defensive side of the ball, which is extremely important, given that the team has conceded 20 goals this season. If they can keep this up, the Houston Dash will need to improve their offensive efficiency if they are to pick up any points and hope to make the NWSL playoffs. It's not impossible, as the team is only two points behind Racing Louisville.

Next up for the Houston Dash is a trip to Kansas City to start a run of two away games before a break in the regular season. With a strong defense and a reliable goalkeeper like Jane Campbell, the Dash have the foundation they need to build a more effective attack and look for important victories later in the season.
