Since arriving at the Pride as a non-roster invitee during the 2023 preseason, Martinez has shown a steady evolution. According to Haley Carter, vice president of soccer operations and general manager, Martinez has invested in herself and shown that she can perform reliably when called upon. Her consistent performance and ability to come off the bench and make an impact made her worthy of this new contract.

Martinez made 23 appearances in all competitions for the club in 2023 and has already made 12 appearances in 2024, starting eight of them. Her contribution to the Pride's defense includes helping the team win four games without conceding a goal. The player from Albuquerque, New Mexico, also has an impressive career in college soccer, captaining the Fighting Irish at the University of Notre Dame.

Martinez's renewal is a testament to the Orlando Pride's commitment to building a solid and reliable defense. The young defender has not only brought defensive stability, but has also shown leadership and dedication, qualities that are key for any team seeking long-term success. The decision to keep Martinez until 2025 reflects the club's confidence in his potential for growth and positive impact on the team.
