Slisz, 25, replaced Taras Romandczuk and has already shown his ability in midfield for Atlanta United, where he stands out for his good positioning and distribution of passes, especially in the final third of the pitch. However, his performance at the Euros was more subdued, with little action on the ball during the 55 minutes he was on the pitch.
Poland opened the scoring through Adam Buksa, but the Netherlands, showing their strength, turned the game around with goals from Cody Gakpo and Wout Weghorst, who came off the bench to secure the win in the 83rd minute. Despite the 2-1 defeat, Slisz's participation was a significant milestone for both him and Atlanta United.
Since he started playing for the Polish national team in 2021, Slisz has amassed 10 international caps. His debut came in a World Cup qualifier against San Marino.
At Atlanta United, Slisz is known for his ability to win back possession and distribute accurate passes, qualities that certainly bring value to the Polish national team. In his few appearances, he had an accuracy of 86%.
Despite the unfavorable result, Slisz's participation is a significant milestone for Atlanta United, highlighting the quality of their players on the international stage. Poland's next challenge will be against Austria at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, a crucial game for the team's ambitions in the competition. Slisz will have another opportunity to prove his worth and help his team fight for a place in the next round.
