The USMNT is on the hunt for a new head coach, after the previous occupant Gregg Berhalter was let go by the U.S. Soccer Federation. Despite a good start to life as head coach and showcasing some promising work with young soccer players, the USMNT is heading in a new direction and in search of a new head coach. That said, could an Arsenal Invincible have presented himself at a better time?

It is widely documented that one of the players on the USMNT shortlist to replace Gregg Berhalter as head coach is the former Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira. The French soccer legend is on the hunt for his next managerial opening, after leaving Strasbourg in 2024.

Since retiring as a player in 2011, Patrick Vieira's love for the game has only grown. He has singled out new growth opportunities as a coach and his career highlights as manager include New York City FC, Nice and Crystal Palace. So, he has managed all over the globe, with stints in North America and Europe.

Patrick Vieira is clearly knowledgable of the emerging U.S. soccer scene. With the USWNT showing significant success in recent years, the aim is for the USMNT to continue building on the momentum set by their colleagues. As someone who has seen plenty of success in his playing days, could Patrick Vieira be the man to steer the great country on the right track in terms of soccer?

Well, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Patrick Vieira is very much interested in taking on the job role, should it continue to be available. On his podcast, The Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano said (h/t Men In Blazers): " He's [Patrick Vieira] keen on becoming the new manager of the US."

As eluded to, Patrick Vieira is the former captain of Arsenal Football Club. The team based in North London has a rich history of exceptional players, with Patrick Vieira regarded as one of their greatest throughout history.

He certainly played a key role in the greatest Arsenal team in history, as he proudly wore the captain armband while his side lifted the Golden Premier League trophy. Essentially, this was the season where the Gunners won the Premier League without losing a single game all season. They remain the only side to achieve this in the Premier League, so Patrick Vieira has this sticking out on his resume.

Do you think Patrick Vieira should be hired as the new USMNT head coach?
