The matchup between the NWSL and the FA Women's Super League (WSL) promises to be one of the most exciting events of the summer. Arsenal and Chelsea, considered the best teams in England, will embark on a tour for some friendlies in the United States. Arsenal will face the Washington Spirit, which boasts the second-best attack in the league, at Audi Field on August 18. A week later, Chelsea will play against NJ/NY Gotham FC, the current NWSL champions, at Red Bull Arena.

These friendlies are not only an opportunity for the English teams to test their skills against international opponents away from the old continent, but also for American fans to see some of the best players in the world up close. Arsenal and Chelsea will have a training camp at George Mason University.

Emma Hayes, former Chelsea coach who recently became the new head coach of the U.S. women's national team, led the Blues to the semifinals of the last Women's Champions League. The matchup between teams from two distinct leagues will be a good way to assess the pace and progress of evolution for both.

In recent times, the NWSL has lost its status as the strongest league. In contrast, the FA Women's Super League has won the new title. However, England has many interesting teams, but I would single out four: Chelsea, Arsenal, the top teams and the outsiders, Manchester City and Manchester United, with the other teams evolving.

The NWSL also attracts players from other nationalities. The league is very competitive, there can even be a balance between the teams and anything can happen during the playoffs. The best can't always win. We can highlight what happened last year. The San Diego Wave were the best team in the qualifying phase, but Gotham FC, who took the last spot in the playoffs, won the title. In theory, it will be interesting when the teams meet to make the necessary comparisons, even if it's in a friendly.
