She was drafted in 2022 and was patiently waiting her turn to be the head protector between the pipes. Most of her appearances were in tournaments or on loans in Europe before this season. That was though, before this season.

Now Jordyn Bloomer is the goalie of the future for Racing Louisville FC. After an injury sidelined Katie Lund, it was her chance. She made 21 starts in 2025. During her first full campaign, she had five clean sheets and made 89 saves.

It was a key to why Racing Louisville finally was able to breakthrough and make the postseason for the first time in their postseason history.

It is a quick rise and one that could be the key to Bloomer becoming a household name. She is teamed with Emma Sears on Racing, who is a rising star in both the NWSL and international stage with the National Team.

Bloomer can be one of the top goalies in the league, and Racing saw that in her with the three-year extension. Now she at least continues to wear and lead in lavender colors for the next few years.

The extension came from her steady play, but many moments displayed how strong she could be. On May 9, she had her first clean sheet against the eventual champion, Gotham FC. She made five saves in the games.

But what brought her national attention among many who follow the league is when she took on the Orlando Pride on August 10. The box score says it was 1-1 draw against Orlando. That is only because of what the young goalie from Wisconsin pulled off.

She became the first goalie in NWSL history to stop two penalty kicks in the same game. It was an important moment for a goalie and team that needed every point to gain their first time in the postseason.

As the league may be at a crossroads with contracts taking center stage, the rise of popularity in women's sports continues to grow throughout the country. Now they will need to look at new stars they can hang their hats on.

Jordyn Bloomer may be such a star and may be a player that many could look at who worked hard, waited patiently and became a star in her own right. Racing and NWSL fans will be excited to see what she brings in 2026.
