Something is missing within Ronny Deila's group, and it's the kind of thing that just might have been acquired from an intra-league trade partner.

But the Five Stripes ultimately let the deadline pass without making a move, including allowing their former player Julian Gressel to go to Minnesota United.

FC Dallas

The Texans have one of the league's best strikers in Petar Musa and best attacking midfielders in Luciano Acosta, and yet they've just been sort of OK so far this season.

Dallas seems to be in need of depth more than additional star talent, which is exactly why the end of the primary transfer window could've been time to make a trade.

D.C. United

The Black-and-Red have failed to build on a promising first season under manager Troy Lesesne in 2024, and have now let the primary deadline pass without securing any reinforcements.

Lesesne's group may have one of the best strikers in MLS at their disposal in Christian Benteke. But they also have conceced an Eastern Conference-worst 19 goals and should've reinforced their backline sooner than later.
