General Manager Caitlin Carducci underscored Prince's importance: "She's a proven winner on the field and one of the most genuine people off it. She's a true asset to the club, both in the locker room and on game day."

That recognition comes from a player who, despite battling injuries all over the place, certainly left her mark. She has played in 13 matches, starting nine, and made appearances that helped keep this team competitive and into the playoffs.

Profile in the NWSL

Nichelle Prince has built a decent career in the NWSL. Her professional journey started in 2017 when she was picked by the Houston Dash as the 28th overall pick in the College Draft. During the six seasons with the NWSL club, the forward played 88 games for Houston and quickly rose to be recognized as quick and decisive in her attacking play.

Head coach and sporting director Vlatko Andonovski commented on the following when discussing the renewal: "She's an experienced, strong, and fast forward who has shown she can help develop and finish scoring opportunities."

Leadership and international success

Besides what she had done in the NWSL, Nichelle Prince is a very respected figure for her performances at an international level. Having represented the Canadian National Team since she was 17 years old, Prince has recorded over 100 caps with 16 goals scored and 12 assists. She has played in three FIFA Women's World Cups, including 2015, 2019, and 2023, and three Olympic Games, where she won a bronze medal in 2016 and a gold medal in 2021. The reason she is considered an internationally experienced player is that it further cements her standing as a proven leader under pressure.

Connection with the club and looking forward

Nichelle Prince has adopted the vision of the club and connected with the locals ever since she signed with Kansas City Current. She expressed it in words of her own: "The standard at this club is every player's dream. The players, the facilities, the resources, and the incredible KC Baby community that welcomed me made the decision to stay an easy one. I couldn't have dreamed of a more enjoyable season, and I'm so grateful to have at least two more years with this team."

This connection with the club, its fans, and its ambitions reflects Prince’s dedication to contributing both on and off the field.
