The MLS may be on pause, but its transfer window is on fire. First, we found out that three clubs want River Plate star Juan Fernando Quintero, and FC Dallas wants an Argentine World Cup champion to reinforce their goal.
However, this time it happened the opposite. A player from MLS is ready to migrate to the Old Continent to upgrade his career.
According to Croatian sources via social media, Petar Musa wants to return to Europe after the World Cup, and three clubs are already interested in the striker.
Petar Musa wants to leave FC Dallas and return to Europe
The aforementioned outlet reported that the Croatian striker wants to return to play at the highest level. With an outstanding 2025/26 season, Musa has already caught the eyes of Atalanta, Lazio, and Nottingham Forest.
Although the Hoops will lose their primary striker and best player of the season, the transfer fee would be higher than the amount paid for the former Benfica player.
According to the report, FC Dallas is asking between $15 million and $18 million for the 28-year-old forward. The Hoopes bought him for $9 million in 2024.
During his time at the club, the Croatian player has played 80 games, scoring 48 goals and delivering 13 assists.
With this number, one would think that he has what it takes to play at the next level, but there is a hidden truth about Musa.
He already played in Europe, and he didn’t perform well. He bounced between several European clubs before finding stability and success at FC Dallas, a turning point that revitalized his career and led to his selection for Croatia's 2026 World Cup squad.
Even though the Toros will struggle without him, if they manage to sell him for $18 million, the team can search for younger players with the same technique and conditions to keep him as long as necessary.
