St. Louis SC reach agreement to sign Iceland winger Nökkvi Thórisson

Bradley Carnell has reinforcements on the way with Nökkvi Thórisson nearing a move.
Nökkvi Thórisson, 23, is set to join the Western Conference leaders St. Louis SC following a brief spell in Belgium per Transfrmarkt’s Manuel Veth.
A product of Hannover’s academy, Thórisson departed Germany for first-team minutes, eventually playing five seasons across the Icelandic fourth tier and top flight. Thórisson’s final season in Iceland was his best as he became the league’s top scorer, earning him a move to Beerschot and an international call-up.
In his only season in Belgium’s Pro League B, the Icelandic international finished the season with seven goals and three assists across 28 appearances.
Now, a fee of $660,000 will seal a transfer for the third club in the last year for Thórisson. He may not start as often as he has in Belgium and Iceland, but the forward will provide intriguing depth for a squad that has experienced an injury epidemic.
