Gabriel Pereira’s stay in New York proved to be short-lived.

A rough season for NYCFC looks to be getting tougher. Leading scorer Gabriel Pereira is nearing a move away from the club per The Athletic’s Tom Bogert.

An unnamed Qatari club has had a bid accepted for the 21-year-old Brazilian winger who has six goals and three assists in the league for a disappointing NYCFC.

Sitting at four points out of the playoffs in 13th, the Boys in Blue have seen their form nosedive since April, winning just once in fourteen tries.

Signed in March 2022 for $5,500,000 from Corinthians, Pereira showed quality in his 56 appearances for NYCFC, scoring 15 and assisting a further eight times.

Considering Qatar’s sustained interest in Nashville SC forward and the current MVP Hany Mukhtar, who else could the Qatar Stars League aim to acquire?
