LAFC appear set to sign 21-year-old Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Bogusz for an undisclosed fee, per Tom Bogert.

Bogusz, a Polish youth international, is currently in his second season on loan with UD Ibiza in Spain’s second tier, where he has spent most of his Leeds tenure.

Having joined Leeds in 2019, Bogusz made three appearances for the English side before beginning his loan journey. Across 70 appearances, with UD Logroñés and Ibiza, the midfielder has managed seven goals and six assists.

Chiefly deployed as a second striker this season, Bogusz has filled a variety of roles during his stint with Ibiza, especially shining when dropping deep or on the flanks. In more natural positions like last season, Bogusz scored five and assisted four as opposed to his two-goal contributions this season.

At only 21, the midfielder has plenty of room to develop and could prove a shrewd move for LAFC. If the club’s recent track record in the transfer market says anything, it’s very possible.

To complete the move, LAFC will likely have to use their open U22 DP spot to register Bogusz.
