New York Red Bulls Agree Deal for Brazilian Forward Elias Manoel

New York Red Bulls announced on Friday, Jan. 6, that the club reached an agreement with Grêmio for the transfer of forward Elias Manoel.

The 21-year-old Brazilian made seven MLS appearances – including one in the playoffs – for New York after joining the club from loan in August 2022. Manoel netted his first pair of MLS goals in a 2-0 decision over Charlotte FC.

A Grêmio product, Manoel earned his first team call-up for the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie B.  club in March of 2021.

 “We are very happy to have him with us permanently and excited to see him continue to help accomplish the goals we have as a club,” said Head of Sport Jochen Schneider.

Manoel led Grêmio to a 2022 Campeonato Gaucho title, scoring a club-best five goals in 11 matches.  The Itapevi, Brazil native brought two Campeonato Gaucho’s and two Recopa Gaucha’s during his tenure.

New York and Manoel agreed to a three-year contract through 2025 with an option for 2026.
