Next up is my award for Goal of the Week. While this is obviously subjective to my point of view, but what wins is what I genuinely believe was the best goal of the week.

KANSAS CITY, KS – MARCH 26: Graham Zusi #8 of Sporting Kansas City with the ball during a game between Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City at Children’s Mercy Park on March 26, 2022 in Kansas City, Kansas. (Photo by Bill Barrett/ISI Photos/Getty Images)

Goal of the Week

D Graham Zusi (Sporting KC) – (51st minute left-footed strike from several yards outside the box)

Zusi loves himself some sharp goals from outside the box. Nashville made the mistake of giving Zusi too much space, and he made them pay by ripping a fierce shot into the opposite corner of the net.

The goal was Zusi’s first of the season, and the 30th of his Sporting KC career. It also helped KC beat Nashville 2-1 as they attempt to climb up the table towards the playoffs.

The goal ended up not only being fantastic, but it also ended up being crucial as Nashville scored in the 63rd minute. Zusi’s wonder-strike ended up arguably being the difference between Sporting KC winning 2-1 or the match ending in a 1-1 draw.

Honorable Mentions:

Talles Magno

Jefferson Savarino

Luquinhas

Sebastian Ferreira

Alejandro Bedoya

Deiber Caicedo

Gustavo Bou

Also, I have to give some love to Talles Magno and Savarino for their fantastic goals this week after some great ball control/self-volleys. Luquinhas also scored a great goal in which he chipped the ball from outside the box over the keeper (who had just made a save) off a rebound. Sebastian Ferreira also scored a really nice goal in which he headed the ball backwards across his body while moving away from the goal. Bedoya scored a strong goal with a strike from just outside the box. Caicedo and Bou also scored great free kick goals.
