It’s been a rocky road for both New York City FC and Atlanta United en route to the MLS Cup Playoffs. For the Boys in Blue, the club has had to endure some stark peaks and valleys, with the team going through a 6-game winless streak that began in late September in the midst of a heated playoff race. This has left supporters divided on manager Ronny Deila.

With both teams having had their share of drama in 2021, City will host Atlanta in the First Round of the MLS Cup Playoffs on November 21.

Because of the up-and-down performance of the team, NYCFC manager Ronny Deila, including club CEO Brad Sims and Sporting Director David Lee, have faced backlash recently from fans. Should Deila wish to spare himself and his bosses of the angry mob, winning the only guaranteed home game NYCFC have in the playoffs is paramount. Any quick playoff exit will surely see fans asking for Deila’s head.
