Josh Sargent arrives at English Premier League club Norwich City

Josh Sargent is now an English Premier League player, the United States international ready to start his new career in the highest profile league in the world.

This week, Sargent completed his move from Werder Bremen to Norwich City, making the jump from relegation in the Bundesliga this past season to a recently promoted Premiership side. The hope for Sargent is to find regular playing time and the chance to develop in the world’s most competitive league.

And, he’s being treated as a marquee signing, including an introductory video announcing his physical arrival to the storied side.

Watch the video of Sargent arriving at Norwich City here.

A season ago, Sargent played 2,521 minutes, registering five goals and two assists for a side that struggled in the final third to create chances. In 83 first-team matches across all competitions for Bremen (consisting of three years with the senior team), Sargent made 83 appearances with 15 goals and nine assists.

The 21-year old forward has 18 appearances with the United States national team, scoring five goals. He helped the national team capture the inaugural Nations League, where they meat 3-2 in overtime in the tournament’s final.

The video from his new club takes Sargent from his arrival at the local airport through a tour of Norwich’s facility and his introduction to the club.

Sargent, dressed in shorts and a hoodie, still bettered (without trying) Sergino Dest in the wardrobe department this week. We kid, we kid.

(Not really, sorry Dest).

On a side note, make sure to check out ‘MLS Multiplex’s interview with Sky Sports reporter Anton Toloui, who detailed his thoughts on the move, where Sargent fits in the squad and what the realistic output for the young forward will be with his new team in a new league.
