How Nashville SC can bounce back from disappointing loss in Miami

2. Keep the ball

Nashville’s style of play is not conducive to touching the ball too many times. Often, the attack is built through several key passes, rather than a slow buildup.

Nashville is 18th in total touches this season, and they are even worse in touches in the final third (21st in the league to be exact). This is — candidly put — because many of Nashville’s attackers are poor passers. Mukhtar, CJ Sapong, Leal, and Jhonder Cadiz all complete fewer than 76 percent of their passes. And none of them are the attacking leader in progressive passes. That title falls to Godoy.
