The USMNT defeated Jamaica by a score of 1-0 in the Gold Cup quarterfinals on Sunday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Here are the player ratings from Sunday’s win.

The United States Men’s National Team grabbed their third 1-0 win of the tournament with another gritty win on Sunday, this time beating Jamaica in their first knockout game.

It was far from beautiful from the USMNT but Matthew Hoppe’s 83rd minute goal was just enough for the U.S. to get past the Reggae Boyz. Jamaica came out with energy and enthusiasm, but the Americans did what was needed to sidestep it and get the win.

The USMNT now advance to play an interesting Qatar side that leads the tournament with 12 goals scored. Here are the player ratings from Sunday’s quarterfinal win.

Starting XI

Matt Turner – 8

Came up with some big saves in the first half. Was under fire seconds in. Had another save in the 38th minute to deny Junior Flemmings at full stretch. Continued a very impressive Gold Cup showing.

Sam Vines – 6

Was alright. Had a couple concerning giveaways. Would like to see more of him up the pitch.

James Sands – 7

Had a good game. Was solid enough. Did have a couple of shaky moments where he was covered.

Miles Robinson – 7

Was very good and strong. Displayed some good athleticism and bailed out mistakes from others. Great 1 v 1 desparation defending to deny Jamaica in the 56th minute. Big challenge to deny Jamaica goalkeeper Andre Blake a clean header to level the match in extra time.

Shaq Moore – 6

Made some good forward runs. Missed a chance in the15th minute. Was decent, but nothing extraordinary. Had a good lay off to Roldan on the game-winning goal.

Kellyn Acosta – 8

Kept the U.S. coherent in the midfield battle that was very physical.

Sebastian Lletget – 5

Not influential enough. Never asserted his veteran prescence in the midfield.

Gianluca Busio – 7

Some moments where he got beat, but was good overall. Did well keeping possession and provided some good service. Showed some fight against a tough and physical Jamaican team.

Matthew Hoppe – 8

Had a very spicy 84 minutes. Provided some great moments and had some good chances. Ultimately scored the game-winning goal, first goal of his USMNT career, and showed good tenacity by getting his head to the ball.

Paul Arriola – 6

Good to see him come back after suffering an injury earlier in the tournament. Didn’t have a great effect on the game.

Daryl Dike – 5

Disappointing performance. Was sloppy and struggled to make any sort of impact.

Substitutions

Gyasi Zardes – 6

Had a good rip in his opening minutes as a sub. Otherwise, not much other than helping melt the clock in the final moments.

Cristian Roldan – 7

Provided the assist on the winning goal by standing the ball up at the back post. Also had a crucial block to deny a rocket from Kemar Lawrence.

Reggie Cannon – 6

Helped the U.S. close out the game. Showed good skill to escape the Jamaican defense.

Nicholas Gioacchini – 6

Another one who helped the U.S. close out the game.
