It’s only been a day since now-former FC Dallas midfielder 19-year old American Tanner Tessman made his move to Italy to join Venezia F.C for a $4.1M fee. Already the club is continuing its efforts to become America’s favorite Italian club with reports of Gianluca Busio heading to the Serie A side.

The newly-promoted Serie A club is dipping back into Major League Soccer for further midfield reinforcements and in Gianluca Busio, they are getting quite the talent.

Busio Bus Driving to Venice

Per reports out of Italy, Venezia is nearing an agreement with Sporting KC to acquire the services of another 19-year-old American midfielder, Gianluca Busio.

Busio, a product of Sporting’s academy, has seemed destined for a move to Europe since arriving in the KC setup. He soon became the youngest player since Freddy Adu to sign a professional contract in MLS after inking his Homegrown deal in 2017.

Who is Gianluca Busio?

Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, the teenager made his MLS debut at only 16 against FC Dallas and managed to notch his first assist in the following match with Houston Dynamo

Since his 2018 debut, the midfielder has made enormous strides turning into a key cog for a squad currently leading the league in scoring.

A dynamic midfield outlet and competent defender, the Sporting Wonderkid has made 61 appearances contributing seven goals and seven assists.

In the current season, Busio is completing 85% of his passes, leads his team in tackles, is third in total passes and shots, and recently made his United States national team senior debut.

Busio started on Thursday night in the United States’ 6-1 win over Martinique in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
