Los Angeles FC set to welcome full capacity this weekend
Los Angeles FC is the latest MLS club to go full capacity at their home venue, more good news as venues in all sports return to normal.
The 2019 Supporters Shield winning side, Los Angeles FC announced on Monday that Banc of California Stadium will now be at full capacity. This will be the case for the club’s upcoming home league match against the Houston Dynamo on June 19.

This will be the first time since COVID-19 interrupted the 2020 MLS season that Los Angeles FC will play before a full, capacity crowd at Banc of California Stadium. It is considered one of the best venues in North America and boasts tremendous home support.
Prior to Saturday’s match, the club is also promoting a vaccination clinic outside the LA Memorial Coliseum.
In 2019, LA FC averaged 22,261 fans in 17 home matches. The official stadium capacity is 22,000.
Across town, Dodger Stadium announced that they too will be returning to full capacity.
In late May, the Los Angeles Galaxy announced that they will be having full capacity at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA starting June 19 against the Seattle Sounders. The Galaxy had limited attendance to 7,193 spectators up to this point in the season.
It is good news for Los Angeles FC as Banc of California Stadium is one of the most intimidating venues in North America when at full capacity.
The two Los Angeles clubs are at opposite ends of the standings to start the season. The Galaxy, riding the strong form of forward Chicharito, are 5-2-0 and on 15 points, good for third place in the Western Conference. Their Saturday opponent, the Sounders, are topping the league on 18 points with a 5-0-3 record.
The Galaxy are fourth in the Supporters Shield standings.
Los Angeles FC has struggled a bit start to the year as they have battled some injuries including to key player Carlos Vela. They are currently 2-3-2 (8 points) and are just below the playoff line in the Western Conference.
