It was another solid week in the USL Championship for MLS players with three standouts having made the league’s weekly honors.
The second division recognized its best performers this past week, with a trio hailing from MLS teams that have reserve sides in the USL Championship. Two of the players came from Atlanta United II.
Goalkeeper Alec Kann had seven saves in Atlanta United II’s 1-0 win over Louisville City this past week, earning him a spot on the ‘USL Championship Team of the Week.’ He is a veteran goalkeeper with 27 MLS appearances (all starts) since signing with the Chicago Fire in 2013.

Kann’s teammate, defender Aiden McFadden, scored the game’s only goal while proving himself solid defensively in the win over Louisville City.
McFadden, a former star at Notre Dame, is a converted midfielder who had eight goals and six assists in 55 appearances (44 starts) in college soccer. He was a third round pick of Atlanta United in this year’s MLS SuperDraft.
Also making the list was Sporting Kansas City defender Kaveh Rad. Not only did he score his first professional goal, the USL notes that Rad completed “62 of 71 passes while winning 8 of 9 duels and recording seven clearances and 14 recoveries defensively.”
Set to turn 20-years old in mid-June, Rad is a former member of the Sporting Kansas City Academy.
