It’s hard to imagine a 16-year-old kid factoring heavily into Toronto FC’s squad, but this is a new age for Toronto FC, and this kid is seriously good. Jakheele Marshall-Rutty has already had some of the biggest clubs in Europe scout him, and for good reason, because he’s going to be very good, very soon.

Making his TFC debut last season, after signing a homegrown contract, Marshall-Rutty showed what he’s capable of doing. A quick and dynamic attacker, Marshall-Rutty has skills to spare and knows how to dribble a soccer ball. With a pretty decent shot, his decision making could use some improvement, but he’s 16, and that will come.

This season could be a big year for him if he wants to keep the eyes of Bayern Munich and both of the Manchester clubs, who’ve already reportedly scouted him, on what he can do. With a condensed schedule this year, he could be in line for a lot more minutes this season, and, with how good he already is, don’t be shocked if he’s a regular name among TFC’s starting 11 and substitutes by the end of the season.
